The World Food Championships (WFC) is set to hold its "Final Table" competition in Indianapolis August 8-9. Maple Leaf Farms is sponsoring a key challenge during the competition, which could earn the winner $100,000.
Competitors who make it the second round will recreate a beloved dish by local Chef Greg Hardesty – Roast Duck Breast with Crispy Duck Spring Roll, Fried Wild Rice and Dried Cranberry Duck Jus -- with Maple Leaf Farms duck, of course. Chef Hardesty is a four-time James Beard Award winner and owner of the nontraditional pop-up restaurant called Studio C in Indianapolis. He will also serve on the judging panel.
The World Food Championships is billed as the highest stakes food competition in the world. This multi-day, live event culinary competition showcases some of the world's best cooks who compete for food, fame and fortune in 10 categories.
