Duck Meatballs

Duck meatballs

These versatile make-ahead meatballs combine ground duck and duck bacon for delicious flavor. Pair with a variety of sauces for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp Olive Oil

  • 1/3 cup Onion, very finely chopped

  • 1 Tbsp Garlic, very finely chopped

  • 3/4 cup Panko Bread Crumbs

  • 1 large Egg, lightly beaten

  • 1/4 cup Maple Leaf Farms Duck Bacon, finely minced

  • 2 tsp dried Italian Seasonings

  • 1/4 tsp Ground Chipotle (adjust to taste)

  • 1/2 tsp Cayenne Pepper (adjust to taste)

  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper (adjust to taste)

  • 1/4 tsp Kosher Salt

  • 1/4 cup Cheese Blend, shredded

Directions

    Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.

    In large saute pan, heat olive oil over medium. Add onion and garlic. Cook, stirring until translucent, about 5 minutes; remove from heat and let cool.

    In large bowl, add onion and garlic mixture, then add panko, egg, ground duck, duck bacon, Italian seasonings, ground chipotle, cayenne pepper, black pepper and salt. Mix by hand until almost combined.

    Add cheese. Gently mix until ingredients are incorporated. Do not overmix. Mixture will be slightly loose.

    Transfer mixture to refrigerator and let chill for 30 minutes.

    Remove meatball mixture from refrigerator and form into 1 1/2- to 2-inch balls. Transfer to a baking sheet and cook in oven for 15 minutes or until done.

    Meatballs can be used in any application or paired with a variety of sauces.
