Last Minute Halloween Duck Recipes

Need a last-minute spooky dish for a costume party this Halloween? Look no further than these two tasty Halloween recipes. They even have a TWIST like every good scary movie! These festive recipes were created from some of our existing recipes but with just a few tweaks here and there, these dishes become the perfect choice to match the haunted house decorations!
Trick-or-Treat Snack Mix
Take our “Duck Fat Snack Mix” and mix it up for a Trick-or-treat pumpkin and candy corn themed shareable snack!
Ingredients:
5 Tbsp. Duck Fat
3 Tbsp. Butter
1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
Vanilla extract
2 Cups Corn Chex
2 Cups Rice Chex
3/4 Cup Mini Pretzels
M&M’s
Candy Corn
Candy Pumpkins
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.
- Melt butter and Duck Fat together in microwave. Stir in brown sugar and vanilla until it is smooth enough to pour over ingredients.
- Line a large pan with parchment paper. Spread Chex mix on pan. Pour mixture over pan and mix until Chex mix is coated. Bake for 40 minutes stirring halfway through. Let cool then serve.
- Once cooled, add the rest of the ingredients into a large bowl and serve!
Deviled Egg Eyes
Take a crowd favorite dish and make it SPOOKY! With the help of a drop of food coloring and some tasty olives, this recipe can have you feeling like all 👁️EYES👁️ are on you!
Ingredients:
3 slices Maple Leaf Farms Duck Bacon
6 Eggs, large
1/4 Cup Mayonnaise
1/2 tsp Mustard, dried
Green food coloring
Red food coloring
Olives (not green)
Directions:
- In a saucepan, place eggs in a single layer; add enough water to cover the eggs. Bring water to a boil and cook for 12 minutes. Remove eggs from water and let cool.
- In a skillet on medium-high heat, place duck bacon in a single layer; fry for 4 minutes. Turnover and fry an additional 4 minutes. Let cool then finely chop the bacon; set 1 slice aside for garnish.
- Peel and halve the hard-boiled eggs lengthwise. Remove the yolks and add them to a medium bowl.
- Mash the yolks with a fork and stir in the mayonnaise, 2 slices of chopped duck bacon, dried mustard.
- Add a tiny drop of green food color and mix. Blend well using a mixer.
- Place egg whites on a plate. Fill the egg whites evenly with the yolk mixture.
- Cut olives into slices for the eyes. Place on center of yolk mixture.
- Use a toothpick and dip it into the red food coloring. Gently draw the red lines on egg whites and serve!
