Medical Insurance

Vision Insurance

Vision coverage is offered to you at a low additional cost

Employees have access to both in-network and out-of-network vision care providers.

Dental Insurance

Dental coverage is offered to you at a low additional cost, and you have the option to enroll in a buy-up plan.

Flexible Spending Account (FSA)

You can contribute set aside money from your paycheck before income taxes are withheld.

FSAs allow eligible employees to pay for qualified health care expenses such as medical deductibles and copayments, prescriptions, contact lenses, and other health-related expenses that are not reimbursed by your health plan.

Health Savings Account (HSA)

If you decide to have a Health Investment Plan, you’ll have access to a Health Savings Account.

This is a personal savings account used for qualified health care expenses with a tax advantage, and MLF matches a portion of your contribution.

Company Paid Life Insurance

Basic Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) are provided to you at no additional cost.

Basic AD&D Insurance will pay an amount equal to the Basic Life benefit.

Voluntary Life Insurance

Employees have the option to purchase Voluntary Life Insurance that provides an additional life insurance benefit for you and your spouse, and/or your dependent children up to the age of 26.

Short Term Disability Benefits

Short-Term Disability benefits provide income protection paid by Maple Leaf Farms to employees in the event you become disabled and are unable to work due to sickness or non-occupational injury, including pregnancy, for a short period of time.

401k Retirement Savings Plan

  • Prepare for future retirement with our 401k Retirement Savings Plan which offers both after-tax and pre-tax Roth contributions.
  • Maple Leaf Farms will match a portion of your contribution to your retirement savings in the 401k Plan.

    • This college saving plan is designed to help individuals and families save for college in a tax-advantage way. Enroll in this savings plan and choose one or more of eight investment options.
  • Tuition Reimbursement
    • We will reimburse employees who've met length of service requirements for tuition, registration, and any laboratory fees following the successful completion of each course.

Wellness Programs

Lifting
  • Employees who choose to participate in MLF’s wellness program will be eligible to reduce their monthly medical plan contribution for each program they elect to complete.
  • The following programs are available for premium credits: a well adult physical exam, tobacco use statement, and an Anthem Wellness survey.
  • Employees, spouses, and their covered dependents who are looking to quit Tobacco are encouraged to participate in this program which offers free phone counseling, self-help tools, and free nicotine replacement therapy products (patches or gum) for those who qualify.
  • This program provides a free and confidential second opinion to employees, their spouse, and dependents. You can receive a second opinion for surgery or treatment options, or for a better understanding of your medical situation.
  • Employees who desire to purchase a YMCA Membership may do so and receive a monthly discount.
