Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Indiana honored Maple Leaf Farms and the Tucker Family with the Charles D. Smith Award during the 6th Annual BIG Celebration on Dec. 3. Established in 2015 and named in honor of its inaugural recipient, this award recognizes individuals who demonstrate passionate volunteerism, strong community leadership and a lifelong commitment to serving others.
“Maple Leaf Farms’ financial contributions and in-kind donations have helped bring innovative and enhanced programming into the area, providing unique mentoring services to our Littles so that they too will have the opportunity to reach their full potential in life,” said Big Brothers Big Sisters in a press release. “The Tucker family defends potential by volunteering as Big Brothers and Big Sisters and invests their time and talent as mentors to youth in need. Their efforts have created long-lasting impact by bringing positive change to the community.”
Maple Leaf Farms has supported Big Brothers Big Sisters as a donor and has helped the agency grow into the premier mentoring organization that it is today. The company is proud to receive this award and advocate for the youth in the community.
