Tucker Retires as Maple Leaf Farms CEO, Reinholt Named Successor

Maple Leaf Farms, Inc., has announced that Terry Tucker has retired from his role as chief executive officer and named Scott Reinholt to that post. Tucker will remain active in the business as chairman of the company’s board of directors.

Tucker joined the company in 1963, and in the subsequent 50+ years, led the strategic growth and development of the company from a small duck operation into a global industry leader. The company and Tucker have been recognized with many prestigious awards including the AgriVision Award from the Indiana State Department of Agriculture, the Pinnacle Award from Purdue University, Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year Awards and more.

“Leading our family business has been a very humbling and fulfilling experience. I am so thankful that I have had the opportunity to work with many dedicated and hardworking people who helped make our company’s growth and success possible,” said Tucker. “I certainly owe my wife, Sandra, my family and our many loyal employees my gratitude for their years of support and hard work.”

When Tucker joined the company, Maple Leaf Farms produced fewer than 1 million Pekin ducks for retail and foodservice markets throughout the United States. Today, the company is the leading duck producer in North America and is known the world over for its high quality duck products. Along with selling duck to all 50 states, the company also exports products to more than 30 countries.

“Our company has grown tremendously since I joined it just out of college,” said Tucker. “Our family has grown with it and now the fourth generation is active in the business. We look forward to seeing all that we can accomplish together with Scott as CEO. His outstanding leadership qualities and professional expertise have made him a strong leader in our company for many years.”

Reinholt has been with the company since 2002, serving in various leadership positions including chief financial officer, vice president of finance and president of the company’s feather and down divisions. Most recently, he served as the chief operating officer, a position he was appointed to in 2017.

Reinholt received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting at Valparaiso University, earning professional certification as a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Management Accountant. He went on to attain a Master of Business Administration from Ball State University. In 2014, Reinholt was honored with the Indianapolis Business Journal Chief Financial Officer of the Year Award.
