Beer Can Duck
Beer, garlic, and soy sauce! An interesting combination that delivers a tasty whole duck on the grill! Add salt, pepper, and Montreal seasoning to the outside for the perfect crunchy texture on the skin.
Ingredients

1 Whole Duck

½ Cup Honey

1 Tbsp. Oil

2-3 Tbsp. Kosher Salt

Fresh Cracked Pepper

1-2 Tbsp. Montreal Seasoning

1 Can of Beer

1 Garlic Clove, Smashed

1 tsp Soy Sauce

Bring a large pot of water to a boil on the stove. Set up the grill for indirect grilling. Preheat the grill on medium-low.

Remove defrosted duck from bag. Remove giblets and neck from cavity. Pat duck dry.

Once the water is boiling, add honey and mix. Place duck in boiling honey water and blanch for 3-5 minutes.

Sprinkle top of the duck generously with the salt, Montreal seasoning, and fresh cracked pepper.

Open the beer can and pour about ¼ of it out. Place crushed garlic and soy sauce in can with the beer.

Place the beer can in a beer butt stand. Lower the duck carefully on top of the beer can then carefully place on the grill.

Cover the grill and cook the duck for approximately 1.5 hours at 375 or until internal temperature reaches 180 degrees F, measured at the thigh joint.

Transfer duck to a cutting board and let stand for 15 minutes. Remove and discard beer can from cavity.

Carve duck and serve.
