Grilled Mac and Cheese with Duck Bacon
Take mac 'n cheese to a new level with Duck Bacon for a gourmet meal finished on the grill.
Ingredients

1 lb Cavatappi or Macaroni Pasta

4 Tbsp Butter

2 Tbsp Flour

2 cups Milk, Warm

1-1/2 cups Sharp Cheddar Cheese

1/2 cup Gruyère Cheese

Salt and Coarsely Ground Black Pepper, To Taste

5 slices Maple Leaf Farms Duck Bacon, cooked and chopped

1/3 cup Parmesan cheese, shredded

Panko Breadcrumbs

Paprika, To Taste

Preheat grill to 350 degrees F.

In a large saucepan, cook macaroni in salted, boiling water on the stove until al dente. Drain and set aside.

In a 12-inch cast iron skillet heated to medium, melt butter. Add flour while stirring with a spoon or whisk. Slowly add warm milk, stirring constantly until the sauce is smooth.

Add cheddar cheese, stirring until melted, and then add Gruyère, salt and pepper. Stir until melted.

Add pasta and chopped duck bacon, stirring until evenly coated in the cheese sauce.

Transfer skillet to the grill and sprinkle with Parmesan, breadcrumbs and paprika. Cover grill and cook 15-20 minutes, or until top is browned and slightly crispy.
This recipe can be finished in a preheated 350 degree F oven instead of on the grill.
