Position: Customer Service Specialist /Call Center

Location: Grand Rapids, MI

Reports To: Customer Service Manager

Position Duties:

  • COMMUNICATES PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE, PRICING AND OPERATIONAL PROCEDURES TO CUSTOMER.
  • PROCESS ORDERS VIA FAX, PHONE, EMAIL AND /OR THOSE PLACED BY SALES DEPARTMENT.
  • ABILITY TO CLOSELY CHECK ORDERS FOR ACCURACY
  • MONITOR CUSTOMER CREDIT STATUS BEFORE RELEASING ORDER TO PRODUCTION.
  • PROCESS CREDIT CARD CHARGES AND OBTAIN AUTORHIZATION PRIOR TO RELEASE OF ORDER TO PRODUCTION.
  • MONITOR TIME-SENSITIVE ORDERS TO ENSURE COMMITMENTS TO CUSTOMERS ARE MET.
  • PROFESSIONALLY HANDLE CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS FROM INCOMING CALL/CONTACT, THROUGH RESOLUTION.
  • INITIATE CONTACT WITH INACTIVE ACCOUNTS IN AN EFFORT TO RE-ESTABLISH BUSINESS RELATIONSHIP.
  • ASSIST IN MAINTENANCE OF CUSTOMER FILES.
  • PERFORM OTHER RELATED DUTIES AS REQUIRED.

Qualifications:

  • Progressive related experience in Customer Service
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and problem solving in a timely manner
  • Attention to detail and ability to accurately report information
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in written form, with a variety of individuals and situations
  • Working knowledge of computers, including, but not limited to, word processing spreadsheets, and databases
  • Mandarin Language skills a plus
  • Previous knowledge of the food industry is helpful
